This past summer (05X) I spent the summer as the Alpine Steward on top of Mt. Moosilauke. I stayed at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge and hiked the mountain every day - over 50 times. I got to know the mountain pretty well, and I tried to capture some of what I learned in pictures.
On my second day of work, just as I summited Moosilauke, I spotted two Moose on the east side of the alpine area. The cow and calf, about 25 yards from me, didn't notice me for about ten seconds, but then they ran.
